AiguaStart

The AiguaStart unit is the one used by the Starter official to control the starting of a race. This unit will control all other units during the race start sequence and guarantees that the Master and all Chrono units will start exactly at the same time.

Select prerecorded message voice gender:

  • The Start unit has the "Take your marks" message prerecorded so the starter official doesn't have to speak into the start unit.
  • Select the voice gender in which you would like to play the message.

Establish connection with Master unit:

  • Once the voice gender has been selected the Start unit will start searching for a Master unit to establish a connection.
  • UNIT SELECTOR: Use the Unit Selector button if you want to go back and choose a different Aigua unit.

Wait for Race Enable:

  • Once a connection has been established with the Master unit the Start unit will wait for a race to be enabled before displaying the race start controls.

Waiting for Chrono units:

  • Once a race has been enabled the Start unit will verify if all Chrono units are ready for the race.
  • When all the Chrono units are ready the TAKE YOUR MARKS button will go green.
  • Although it is possible to start a race when the TAKE YOUR MARKS button is still red, this is only for testing purposes. During a real race you should never press the TAKE YOUR MARKS button when it is still red.

Get set for race:

  • When all units are ready to start the race press the Take Your Marks button to play the "Take your marks" message through the loud speakers.

Start race:

  • To start the race press the Start button and the start horn sound will play through the loud speakers.
  • When the start button is pressed all the Chrono units will start their automated timers. Since the clocks on all Chrono units are synchronized to the Master unit clock, all start times are exactly the same regardless of any network delays.

Waiting to confirm start:

  • Once a race is started you will be presented with the start confirmation buttons in disabled state for a few seconds. This is to prevent pressing any of these buttons by mistake after pressing the start button.

Confirm start:

  • Once the start confirmation buttons are enabled press START OK if the race start was correct.
  • Or press FALSE START if the start was foul, in which case the foul start horn sound will be played through the loud speakers.
  • When a race start is cancelled with the FALSE START button all Chrono units as well as the Master unit are reset and prepared for a fresh race start.

Connection loss:

  • If the connection with the Master unit is lost at any time press the Unit Selector button and select the AiguaStart unit again to restore the connection.
  • Remember though that connections cannot be restored while a race is in progress.
