AiguaMaster

AiguaMaster is the main control application of the AiguaTiming system. Whenever AiguaTiming is run on an iPad the Master unit will be automatically selected, it can only run on the iPad.
As the control center of the AiguaTiming system the Master unit has the following purporses:
  • Import meet information.
  • Connect to all satellite AiguaTiming units.
  • Prepare all units for a race.
  • Control races and store their results.
  • Export meet results.

Importing Meet Information

AiguaMaster doesn't allow any meet information to be edited as it is designed to work together with meet management software systems. Meet management systems are able to export meet information (including start lists) in different formats. AiguaMaster requires that you import these meet information files to load all the details of the events taking place. Please refer to the import/export page for details on the supported file formats and the import procedures.

Testing AiguaMaster

If you don't have any meet files at this time you can use the "Load Sample Meet" option under the Import button to test AiguaTiming with some sample races.

AiguaMaster Always Listening

While AiguaMaster is running it is always listening on the Wi-Fi network for other AiguaTiming units, which we call satellite units. If any satellite units are available on the network AiguaMaster will ask them to join the system. If the found units are unique (there can only be one Chrono unit for each lane, one Start, and one Display unit) they will be displayed in green on the network status bar on joining.

The only time when AiguaMaster is not listening for other units to join is when a race is enabled. Once a race is enabled the network is locked in and no more units can join the system. After a race is completed AiguaMaster goes back to listening for other units to allow for any configuration changes before the next race.

Running a Race

Enable Race

To start a race first choose a heat from the Events/Heats list and press Enable Race. If AiguaMaster is missing any AiguaChrono units from the lanes required to run the current race it will ask you if you want to start the race anyway. If you are testing the Aigua system you can proceed to enable a race with missing AiguaChrono units, but if this is a real race, never enable a race if there are AiguaChrono units missing.

Enabling a race prepares all the units connected to AiguaMaster for the start of the race. During this process AiguaMaster also confirms that all the AiguaChrono units are not only connected, but also setup and ready for the start sequence. When all units are confirmed it signals the AiguaStart unit which in turn displays the Take Your Marks button in green to show that the entire system is good to go.

Start Race

The start signal can be give with AiguaMaster's Start All button or through an AiguaStart unit. If done through an AiguaStart unit starting a race is a three step process:
  1. Press Take Your Marks after the button goes green.
  2. Press Start to play the start sound and start all units.
  3. Press False Start if it so, or press Start Ok to confirm that the race started correctly.

Stop Race

A race will stop automatically when all swimmers have completed all their laps. If for any reason some of the expected lanes for a heat are not being used (during testing or other reasons) you can press Stop All to stop the race at any time.

Reset Race or Confirm Results

Once a race is stopped or completed normally you have the option to Reset All, in case you want to repeat the race, or Confirm Results, which will store all the race results and lock it. Once a race is flagged as confirmed it cannot be run again, the results are final, so you should only confirm the results when they are official.

Run Next Heat

After every confirmed race AiguaMaster will automatically select the next available heat to speed up the setup process.

Exporting Results

Once an entire meet has been completed it is time to export all the results so they can be loaded back into the meet management software. Refer to the import/export page for details about the export process.
